Hi Catherine, thanks for the question. You’re fine to keep getting your starflower oil benefits on a low cholesterol diet, and starflower oil is fine also to take with cod liver oil. One of the nice things about it, is that there aren’t any known interactions, and natural borage or starflower oil can go a long way towards solving your PMS type problems and improving women’s health with no danger of any side effects. It’s a great natural remedy, and one that we’d encourage every woman to take.
So keep on taking the starflower oil capsules, and good luck with the cholesterol.

Hi Jacqui, thanks for the question.
The short answer is Yes, it should do.
There are lots of reports of women taking starflower oil and finding a reduction in joint pains, as well as bloating, abdominal pains and PMT/PMS generally.
We’re so convinced of the benefits of starflower oil that we recommend that every woman, without exception, would benefit from daily starflower oil capsules, and every single woman who’s taken our advice has felt the benefit.
Start taking them now (order them today – and you’ll get them early next week, and they’re on special offer too) and you’ll feel the benefit within weeks.
And it would be good if you came back here and let us know how you get on. Feedback from people not associated with this site always helps other women in a similar position.
Hope this helps

Hi Angela, thanks for that.
I don’t think that’s too bad for only five weeks of the capsules, do you? I’d expect the full effect to build up over about three months, so yes I’d keep taking the starflower oil. And remember, when you’re feeling better, don’t stop taking it. Make it a habit now and you won’t go far wrong.

Hi there
I have been taking starflower oil now for about 5 weeks to help with psoraisis and bad PMT. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin – lots of nice clear patches coming through and nearly all gone from my elbows but the PMT last week was no better. No sore breasts mind you so that was something. Will just keep taking them and hope for the best.

Hi Lucy
It’s fine to carry on yr normal starflower oil in pregnancy. There are no known side effects.
But we’re not doctors here, just people who know the benefits of starflower oil, so if you’re worried about anything in your pregnancy just have a chat with your doctor

Better late than never Shelly – we just wish starflower oil was more widely known. Anyway, glad it’s doing the job for you.
And with the menopause not too far away, you may like to try black cohosh as well which is a supplement that many women find helps give relief for hot flushes and other menopause symptoms.

Hi Simone
We’ve started a forum now for you to ask your questions, so we’ve not been monitoring comments here recently – have a look at it here . But the answer to your question is that starflower oil won’t interreact with multivitamins, codliver oil or any of the other regular dietary supplements, That’s one of the nice things about it – you get the starflower oil benefits with none of the side effects you get with drugs.
Hope this helps.

Hi Bev, starflower oil is certainly suitable for menopausal women, and many women keep taking it even after the menopause with great results.
If the hot flushes are severe – and we know how bad they can be – Black Cohosh can work wonders and we always recommend it alongside starflower oil if you’re a sufferer. You can read more about it on our Manage your menopause page.
You should normally notice the effects within a couple of months.
hope this helps

Hi Devril
We’re not doctors here at starflower oil, just people who know how amazing starflower oil benefits can be. So we’d always recommend you check with your doctor any medical issues you’re unsure about. And this applies especially with something so important as pregnancy. So that’s what we advise you to do.
Starflower oil and pregnancy does come up as an issue quite often, and there are no problems we’re aware of taking your normal dose of starflower oil while pregnant.
And as you say, they really do help with the mood swings and hormonal problems.
So give yourself peace of mind by checking with your doctor first.
Hope this helps

Hi Emma, thanks for your comments. I’m sure they’ll help other women like yourself.
Starflower oil is a must for all my friends, and they wonder how they ever did without it. We’ve heard good things about agnus castus too, so let us know how you get on. Women usually see results from starflower oil and agnus castus within a couple of months.

Hiya,
I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome last year but have been suffering with the symptoms (acne, very irregular periods, excess hair) since my teenage years (i am now 24). I started taking starflower oil last August and my skin on my face is so much better! instead of being covered in spot i just get a few around my chin and jaw line. the skin on my back is better but not completely healed yet, but im living in hope
My periods are not regular but i had a coil fitted a couple of months ago so that has disrupted them further. i am going to order some agnus castus today because it helps control PCOS and i have also read it can help acne. So with that and the starflower oil im hoping my symptoms will be alot better!
I would definitely recommend starflower oil to any women with irregular periods or PCOS. Or just any women at all really, it has all round benefits!

Thanks Zoe, yes we’ve come across the starflower oil pregnancy link before too, though it doesn’t seem to be one of the starflower oil benefits mentioned that often.
Glad it helped you anyway.

Also, just to add, I have been taking them for about 5 years and take 1000mg a day – It took my other half and I less than a month to get pregnant and when I asked other Mums the ones that took Starflower seemed to get pregnant quick. I love them, they make me feel like me again and not some hormonal nutcase – Zoe x

Hi Helen
Thanks for taking the trouble to post. You’ll find that 3 weeks is a little quick for it to help with yr cycle, but if you take it regularly you should see the starflower oil benefits within two or three months. All you need do then is keep taking the starflower oil and you’ll be amazed at how good you feel.

Thought I would leave a comment to benefit others.
My reflexologist recommended I take starflower oil along with agnus castus to help regulate my cycles and it has worked a treat to help alleviate some of the pmt symptoms I suffer.
The biggest benefit I have to say from my point of view is what it has done for my skin I suffer with excema and during the winter my skin on my face is so dry but my skin look vibrant and healthy thanks to the starflower oil!

Hi there I just wanted to say a big thanks to you for explaining it all – I’d heard about starflower oil and seen it mentioned in the press but didn’t understand how starflower oil could transform my life. All the tension and moods around period time are gone and the whole thing is practically pain free just through taking a couple of starflower capsules a day.
I wish I’d discovered starflower oil years ago, but all my friends are taking starflower oil now and my daughter’s taking starflower oil as well.
I wouldn’t have believed it if I’d not tried it myself, but starflower oil is like a miracle.
